Ministries in the Greater Houston Region

In Young Life, we believe that every kid deserves to hear about a God who loves them. That's why we've grown and adapted to make sure kids from all backgrounds and abilities can hear about the greatest love story ever told.

High school students, middle school students, college students, students with disabilities, teen moms, military brats, and kids from all over the world can see what Young Life is all about!

Young Life

The high school years are a time when most teenagers make important life choices, including what they believe about God. And so Young Life is there in the world of high school — learning kids’ names, hearing their stories, having fun and sharing with them the great news of a God who loves them.

No matter where high school kids live — in small towns, suburbs or big cities — Young Life’s commitment to them is the same. We take them as they are, place no expectations on them and seek to understand their world. We also offer them fun, adventure, direction for the future and hope, not to mention lasting friendships that could change their lives forever.

WyldLife

In WyldLife, we love middle school kids! They are full of life and yet experiencing profound emotional and physical changes.

Middle school is a time when kids make important decisions about who they are and what they believe. And so WyldLife leaders — who range from spiritually mature high school and college students to moms, dads and retirees — consider it a privilege to be involved in their lives. We seek to model and express God's love to our young friends by learning their names, hearing their stories and honoring their God-given desire for a life of fun, adventure and purpose.

YoungLives

More than 20 years ago, Young Life answered God’s call to run headfirst into the chaos of teenage motherhood with the hope of Jesus ... and YoungLives was born.

YoungLives has never wavered from the original vision to reach teen moms by entering their world, modeling the unconditional love of Christ, and encouraging them to become the women and mothers God created them to be. Through Young Life’s time-tested methods and life-on-life mentoring, teen moms are empowered to make positive choices, set and achieve goals, and live a future rooted in Christ.

Capernaum

Young Life leaders have the privilege of knowing and sharing their lives with teenagers and young adults with disabilities. While all Young Life activities are open to every high school student, many Young Life areas have dedicated programs for students and young adults with disabilities, typically referred to as Young Life Capernaum Ministries.

Young Life Capernaum gives young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities the chance to experience fun and adventure, to develop fulfilling friendships and to challenge their limits while building self-esteem through club, camp and other exciting activities. Young Life staff and volunteers model Christ’s unconditional love and acceptance as they walk alongside these young adults — filling their lives with love and support.

Young Life College

Young Life has a growing presence on college campuses. It’s called Young Life College.

Regardless of a students’ religious background, Young Life College offers a fun, accepting community to be a part of while exploring or deepening their faith.  As caring adults venture with them, college students are nurtured, guided and encouraged to become young adults who are committed followers of Jesus Christ.

College students can also be great Young Life leaders for middle and high school students. Most areas are eager to train and include college students as valuable members of their Young Life teams.

Multicultural and Urban Ministry

Multicultural Young Life is our ministry serving kids of color and kids from under-resourced communities. Many of these kids often feel misunderstood and neglected and are being raised in environments where hope for the future is sometimes limited.

Multicultural Young Life leaders identify with the community they serve and adapt ministry work to fit the needs of the kids. Multicultural camp weeks are also a crucial part of this unique Young Life ministry. From small, rural communities to the heart of the inner city, Young Life seeks to bridge the gap and reach this generation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
